Device evaluation completed on june 19, 2024: the product was returned to mentor for evaluation.Mentor conducted visual inspection of the returned device.Visual analysis of the returned sample revealed that the sm mpps dv 200cc breast implant was found to have a tear measuring approximately 0.1 cm within a crease/fold on the posterior view. The evaluation determined that the possible cause of the rupture is consistent with normal wear.Deflation can occur at any time after implantation, but it is more likely to occur the longer the implant is implanted.Creating wrinkles or folds should be avoided during implantation or other procedures as it can result in a deflation in a later time.Breast implants may also simply wear out over time.As part of mentor¿s quality process, all devices are manufactured, inspected, and released to approved specifications. No corrective and preventive action (capa) is required now.Additional information received on june 16, 2024, indicated that the patient also experienced right sided scar widening. As a result, patient underwent scar revision and left breast augmentation revision with replacement of unknown mentor moderate profile saline prosthesis.Manufacturer¿s reference number: (b)(4).
