Event or Problem Description

|
It was reported that a patient underwent an unknown procedure on (b)(6) 2024 and suture was used at the end of the procedure for the closure of the right femoral vein by a bursa spot. The non-absorbable suture thread was to be removed the next day.During the procedure, the needle broke in the patient's leg, in the flesh. The needle was "lost" in the patient's thigh at the level of the femoral vein with no attachment point to get it out.The surgeon was unable to recover it.The surgeon used ultrasonography, fluoroscopy to locate the needle, still blocked toward the femoral vein of the patient. There were several minutes of handling before the needle was retrieved by making an incision.A stitch was placed on this necessary incision and was removed before discharge.Nothing to report afterwards.Additional information was requested.
