Event or Problem Description
It was reported that on (b)(6) 2024, the patient underwent osteosynthesis for a humeral diaphyseal fracture with the nail and the drill bit in question. In the surgery, after proximal fixation with mhnlong 9.5-210 mm, while drilling distally with radiolucent, the drill bit was not sharp enough and the drill was drilled under unstable conditions (floating), so it could not be controlled well, and the hole was drilled at a slightly off position. Then, the fracture occurred. The surgery was completed successfully with 30 minutes of surgical delay. The patient outcome was reported to be stable. After the surgery, the surgeon commented the following: - one of the factors may be that the drill bit was worn out and could not cut.- the 9.5mm thick nail may have caused the bone to be directly loaded due to the lack of clearance (escape route). One possible cause other than the product was that the counter could not be applied under unstable conditions in the distal upper arm, making it difficult to drill properly.
