It was reported by the patient's son that the patient was out of the country and the device was alarming every four hours.A remote monitoring transmission indicated the right ventricular (rv) lead had triggered a lead integrity alert (lia) for high rate non-sustained episodes and sensing integrity counter (sic). When the patient returned home, it was noted that the pacing impedance was varying and rising.Noise was also observed on the rv lead.A fracture of the low voltage portion of the rv lead was suspected and the rv lead was capped and replaced. No patient complications have been reported as a result of this event.
