H3, h6: the real intelligence femur tracker, part number rob10018, lot number 19mct0029, intended for use in treatment, was returned for evaluation. The reported problem was visually confirmed. The teeth of the tracker are visible worn and rounded.A functional evaluation was performed.Although the teeth are visibly worn, the tracker was able to lock securely into a known good clamp. The most likely cause of the wear on the tracker teeth is from use over time.Although the tracker was able to lock securely during testing, wear on the tracker clamps used may have contributed to rotation or slipping that was not observed with a know good clamp.A review of manufacturing records indicate the device met all specifications upon release into distribution.A complaint history review was performed by part number and similar complaints were identified.A review by lot number was performed and no similar complaints were identified.A historical escalation event review was completed.A review of prior escalation actions found no actions applicable to the scope of the reported complaint. The failure mode and associated risk have been anticipated within the risk file including a documented risk level.Although no further containment or corrective action is recommended or required at this time, the failure mode will continue to be closely monitored through complaint investigation and trended through post market surveillance activities.
