Event or Problem Description
|
|
During the procedure, when passing the 1.5 l74/57 p/hole-core drill bit to place the first screw, despite the fact that the drill bit was being irrigated with solution, it broke. The fragments were then removed and it was evident that a part of the drill bit remained inside the patient's bone. The removal of said fragment was evaluated with the specialist and its extraction was not possible, which is why it was decided to leave this fragment inside the patient's bone since it would not cause any additional damage.A drill bit with the same characteristics was passed to the specialist to continue with the procedure. The surgery was completed successfully, without alterations in the surgical times.
