Event or Problem Description
Complainant alleged that during functional testing, the device displayed an "ecg fault -501" error message.Complainant indicated that there was no patient involvement in the reported malfunction.

The device was returned to the zoll medical corporation.The customer's report was duplicated and attributed to the defected pads.The pads failed multiple self-tests.The pads were replaced to resolve the report.The device was recertified and returned to the customer.Analysis of reports of this type has not identified an increase in trend.
