> faulty size 10 corail broach and broach handle.Broach gets stuck on broach handle unable to unjam without excessive force.Broach gets stuck on neck trials the product was returned to j&j medtech orthopaedics for evaluation.Visual inspection of the returned device found that the broach corail amt 10 was unassembled with nothing attached to it, the reported jammed condition was unable to confirm, however the post of the broach was found to be slightly bent. The observed condition of the post is consistent with a random component failure that may have been caused by exposure to unintended forces, such as, the exposure of excessive force in a prying motion leading to overload of the material.A functional test was performed with a laboratory sample device and the broach was unable to assemble due to the observed condition on the device the functionality issues were able to be confirmed.A dimensional inspection was not performed since it was not applicable to the complaint condition. The overall complaint was confirmed as the observed condition of the broach corail amt 10 would have contributed to the complained issue.Based on the investigation findings, it has been determined that no corrective and/or preventative action is proposed. There is no indication that a design or manufacturing issue has caused the reported complaint condition. As part of j&j medtech orthopaedics quality process, all devices are manufactured, inspected, and released to approved specifications.Additional monitoring for any potential safety signals will be conducted through complaint trending and other post-market safety surveillance activities.Device history lot
