On may 21, 2025, mentor received information that indicated the revision surgery occurred on (b)(6) 2025.Date of explantation: (b)(6) 2025.On june 02, 2025, the mentor analysis lab received the suspect medical device for evaluation. On june 12, 2025, mentor completed an evaluation on the returned device.Mentor then conducted visual inspection and microscopic examination of the device.Visual analysis of the returned device determined that the breast implant was found to be ruptured.Microscopic examination was performed on the edges of the rupture, and parallel striations were found in an area of the tear on the posterior aspect, measuring approximately less than 0.1 cm.Parallel striations are consistent with markings made by a sharp object perforating the implant shell. The cause of the rupture in the remaining area of the tear could not be identified. This was consistent with the information about the device was ruptured during a biopsy. Some breast ptosis is a normal component of the mature breast.Ptosis becomes undesirable when the breast parenchyma predominates below the areola, droops considerably below the inframammary fold and the nipple points downward.Augmentation alone, without consideration of the ptosis can produce a less than desirable cosmetic result known as a "rock in sock" deformity or an increased ptotic appearance.Ptosis is a known complication associated with these devices and is referenced in our current product insert data sheet.Manufacturer¿s reference number: (b)(4).
