It was reported that on (b)(6) 2025, the patient underwent an unknown surgery with the drill bit.The surgery was completed successfully without any surgical delay. After the surgery, the sales rep was informed by a j&j¿s distributor that there was something strange about the shape of the drill bit.During the surgery on the (b)(6), when the product was opened, the shape of the drill bit was not specifically identified and no discomfort was noticed. However, the surgeon adjusted the position of the distal locking with a surelock and drilling was performed after it was determined that there were no problems. In doing so, the portion was somehow misaligned, and the surgeon inserted it by trial and error. It is unclear whether this is related to the shape of the drill bit. Therefore, an investigation was requested to determine if the product in question was defective from the beginning or if it is related to this event. No further information is available.
