Additional Manufacturer Narrative
Product complaint # (b)(4).Additional information has been requested and received. If further details are received at a later date a supplemental medwatch will be sent. Was any surgical intervention performed? yes, the interventions that appear in the surgical description of the patient attached to the medical record. Were cultures collected? findings? no, the patient did not present evidence of an infectious process in the surgical wound for such conduct to be necessary, only the allergic reaction already mentioned.Describe how the adhesive was applied. The sticker was applied according to training carried out by those responsible that the company and the company itself have already carried out with our team.He made sure that the wound area was clean and dry, and then the edges of the wound were brought closer digitally, then applying the mesh and positioning it over the wound, pressing gently to fix it to the skin.Afterwards, the dermabond liquid adhesive was applied in several thin layers on the mesh and around the wound, waiting a few seconds between applications, with a light brushstroke, preventing it from running into the wound, waiting for it to dry completely. What preparation was used before, during, or after the use of the adhesive? i ask that the question be elaborated explicitly, since much of it has already been answered in the previous item. Was a bandage placed over the incision? if so, what type of dressing was used? no.Is the patient hypersensitive or allergic to cyanoacrylate or formaldehyde? unknown. Is the patient hypersensitive to pressure-sensitive adhesives? unknown. This report is being submitted pursuant to the provisions of 21 cfr, part 803.This report may be based on information which has not been investigated or verified prior to the required reporting date. This report does not reflect a conclusion by ethicon, or its employees that the report constitutes an admission that the product, ethicon, or its employees caused or contributed to the potential event described in this report. If information is obtained that was not available for the initial report, a follow-up report will be filed as appropriate.
