Event or Problem Description
|
|
It was reported that balloon rupture occurred. The 60-70% stenosed target lesion was located in the mildly tortuous and severely calcified radial artery.A 5.0 x 200, 75cm mustang balloon catheter was advanced for dilation in a percutaneous transluminal angioplasty.During the second inflation at 10 atmospheres for 30 seconds, the balloon ruptured. The device was removed, and the procedure was completed with another of the same device. There were no patient complications as a result of this event.
