It was reported that the bd syringe had an issue with volumetric accuracy. The following information was provided by the initial reporter: braun syringe pump does not empty the entire syringe of medicine when the braun syringe pump alarms that the infusion (dose in the syringe) has been administered, it turns out that 0.7-0.8 ml is missing from the syringe. It must be administered at a specific and consistent speed. It must also be administered by pump because elevated pressure can be monitored during administration. We had to reset the pump several times so that more of the medicine could be administered, but eventually the pump indicated that the arm had reached its end position. At this point, there was still 0.45 ml left in the pump. They are called bd plastic packs. They are manufactured in the usa and around europe. The syringes have slight differences depending on where they were manufactured, which is why this happens. We tried a braun 10 ml syringe and did not encounter this problem.
