Event or Problem Description
It was reported that during a laparoscopic right hemicolectomy, the stapler was fired resulting in only the inner and outer staples firing while the middle staples did not, leaving the staple line open in the middle.This led to an incomplete staple line and extended surgical time.To resolve the issue, another linear stapler was used to complete the staple line without further problems.
