Event or Problem Description
It was reported that during a left carotid endarterectomy open procedure; while closing the skin, the suture broke in the middle during suturing and then it unraveled, as determined during the procedure.These issues resulted in an extended surgical time of at least five minutes and required complete re-suturing of the entire incision.An additional new suture was used without issue.No patient complications have been reported as a result of this event.
