Event or Problem Description
It was reported that, during a shoulder scope, it was noticed that a camera control unit had overexposure of light. Before the case, there was trouble doing white balance initially. The procedure was resumed, after a significant delay, using a storz stack competitor device.Additional anesthesia was required, and no further complications were reported.

Additional Manufacturer Narrative
H10 h3, h6: the reported device was received for evaluation.A visual inspection was performed on the returned device and found the camera connector socket has bad or dirty contacts. Also, a large dent was found on the left side near power-supply and a broken led glass optics.A functional evaluation was performed on the returned device and found the suspicion that the camera socket was making faulty contact was confirmed, which was causing the image distortions and the trouble with white balance too.A review of device records showed there were no indications to suggest that the product did not meet manufacturing specifications upon release for distribution.A complaint history review found similar reported events.A risk management review found that the reported failure and/or harm was documented appropriately, and there were no indications to suggest the anticipated risk is not adequate. The root cause has been associated with an electrical component failure.Factors that could have contributed to the failure include damage to the connector which can cause shutdowns and display issues.Based on this investigation, the need for corrective action is not indicated.
