It was reported that the patient woke up and discovered a fluid leak due to the pin on the patient line breaking off during drain 4 of 4 of treatment. The patient experienced drain complications. The patient canceled treatment and began doing a manual drain. The patient was advised to contact their nurse to inform them of the reported event.Upon follow up, the pdrn confirmed that the patient¿s supplies were connected correctly. The fluid leak came from the breaking off of the pin on the multiple tubing segment (mts) connection. It was also confirmed that the pdrn stated the patient is trained on performing stat drains, as well as manual peritoneal dialysis therapy if needed. The patient was prescribed prophylactic antibiotics, vancomycin 1750mg ip and ceftazidime 2g ip on (b)(6) 2025.Confirmed that despite the prophylactic antibiotics, there were no symptoms, adverse events, or injuries requiring medical intervention required as a result of the reported event. The patient is continuing peritoneal dialysis therapy with no further issues. The cycler set used by the patient was discarded and is not available for return for physical evaluation by the manufacturer.
