Event or Problem Description
|
|
It was reported that this implantable cardioverter defibrillator (icd) recorded a code 1003 indicative of battery voltage too low for the projected remaining capacity.A request was made to have data from this device analyzed.Data analysis showed the battery of this voltage code message was valid which confirmed as the power consumption was increasing in a gradual fashion. This appeared to be consistent with capacitor degradation due to hydrogen gas content in the sealed device atmosphere.Subsequently, this icd was explanted and replaced with different model. No additional adverse patient effects were reported.
