Event or Problem Description
According to the reporter, during a rectal tumor with anastomosis between the left colon and rectum, the red safety lever blocked while the rectal stump was already perforated through the anvil tip.The surgeon used force to break the lever to complete the anastomosis.Surgical time was extended by 10 minutes.There was no patient injury.
