Review of the device activity logs makes it clear the device presented an error prompting for more than 1 month before it was reported.The device will communicate to the user that it is not rescue ready by providing an auditory beep every 30 seconds and displaying a red rescue ready (nvi) indicator.We can identify from the log that this device appears to have been left in a not-rescue ready state for an extended period of time.Zoll medical corporation evaluated the device and the customer's report was not replicated or confirmed.The device was put through extensive testing including debugging, stress testing, internal inspection, daily/weekly/monthly testing, on/off current testing, patient/circuit impedance testing and shock testing without duplicating the report.The main board will be replaced as a precaution.The device was recertified and returned to the customer.No trend is associated with reports of this type.

Complainant alleged that during functional testing, the device displayed an "ecg fault -501" error message.Complainant indicated that there was no patient involvement in the reported malfunction.
