Zoll medical corporation has not received the device for evaluation and this complaint is still under investigation.
Event or Problem Description
Complainant alleged that during a routine shift check by a clinician, the device displayed a "pace defib device failure" message.Complainant indicated that there was no patient involvement in the reported malfunction.

The device was returned to zoll medical corporation for evaluation.During the investigation the technician discovered that the customer attempted repair of the device.As a result of the device being tampered with, root cause could not be firmly established.It was recommend to the customer to replace the processor/bridge/pace board as a precaution.Analysis of reports of this type has not identified an increase in trend.
