Event or Problem Description
It was reported that during a video-assisted thoracic surgery (vats) lobectomy, prior to firing, the reload was articulated and closed over the tissue.Before activation by the surgeon, the powered handle automatically opened the reload and canceled the articulation.A new powered handle and shell were used with the same reload and adapter to resolve the issue.No patient complications have been reported as a result of this event.
