Conclusion: device investigation did not reveal any device defect or damage, which has been present whilst implanted.Mechanical damages found during investigation are attributable to the removal surgery.According to the information received, the recipient suffered from pain, tinnitus and taste disturbances, all of which are known undesired side effects of otologic surgery. In addition, two channels migrated out of cochlea, which could have contributed to the observed symptoms and the reported speech degradation. This is a final report.
