Event or Problem Description
Medtronic received information regarding an external drainage and monitoring system.It was reported that while the patient was undergoing normal drainage, a nurse on rounds discovered a crack in the collection chamber; deeming this to pose an infection risk, it was subsequently replaced with a new set to continue drainage.The patient's status at the time of the report was alive-no injury.
