Additional Manufacturer Narrative
The reported event could be confirmed with the provided x-ray images, in which we can see that the nail is slightly bent.A review of the device history for the reported lot did not indicate any abnormalities. No corrective actions are required currently.A review of the labeling did not indicate any abnormalities. No indications of material, manufacturing or design-related problems were found during the investigation.Hcp opinion on provided x rays: "the non-union led to the bending and the nail seems to be of too small diameter. But the information is very limited, and we only have these two x-rays." based on the limited information available, the root cause of the reported event cannot be defined, as this is often multi-factorial: the location of the fracture and the technical aspects of the surgical procedure could have contributed to the event.Furthermore, the patient¿s condition and activity levels post-op may also have contributed to inadequate load distribution and, therefore, the bending of the implant. If the device is returned or if any additional information is provided, the investigation will be reassessed.
