Event or Problem Description
It was learned through implant patient registry that a patient with a 27 mm 3300tfx aortic valve was explanted after an implant duration of 4 years, 7 months due to unknown reasons. The explanted valve was replaced with a 27 mm 11500a valve.Edwards lifesciences maintains an implant patient registry. This registry is a patient tracking mechanism for serialized edwards implantable devices (bioprosthetic heart valves and annuloplasty rings), rather than a true post-market surveillance registry.Through the registry, edwards is notified when these devices are implanted. In addition, patient and/or device status may be reported to the registry via the implantation data cards. The information is received from various sources (e.G.Surgeon, hospital, and patient family members) and is not received in the form of a conventional 'customer complaint'.The information reported may or may not be related to the edwards device.

Event or Problem Description
It was learned through implant patient registry that a patient with a 27mm 3300tfx aortic valve was explanted after an implant duration of 4 years, 7 months due to endocarditis. The patient was asymptomatic upon presentation. The explanted valve was replaced with a 27mm 11500a valve. The patient was taken to the icu in stable condition post procedure.Per medical records, (b)(6) 2026 revealed a well-seated aortic valve. There was significant pvl. There was a mobile vegetation at either the base of the anterior mitral leaflet vs posteriorly on the aortic valve sewing ring.Findings are consistent with progressive sequelae of prosthetic aortic valve endocarditis, along with new vegetation highly concerning for residual infection. The patient was admitted for further management.Redo sternotomy was performed to explanted the 27mm manga ease with a new 27mm inspiris valve.Intra-operatively, the aortic valve was found to have vegetations on the ventricular surface with pseudoaneurysm below the right coronary ostium. There was found to be evidence of active infection at the annular level. The surgical team opted to exclude the pseudoaneurysm with pledgetted valve sutures. The 27mm inspiris was implanted successfully without complications. The patient was taken to the icu in stable condition post procedure.Edwards lifesciences maintains an implant patient registry.
