A patient implanted with an osm ipg was hospitalized on (b)(6) 2026 for infection. The cardiologist on call suspected the osm ipg was infected and subsequently removed the device three days later.Blood cultures came back positive, so per hospital policy, the device was discarded immediately following explant. Therefore, evaluation of the device itself will not be possible.A dhr review was conducted and no anomalies were found, including any in the sterilization records of the ipg.It remains unknown at this time what was the initial source or cause of infection, but there is no evidence at this time to suggest it was the implanted osm ipg.
