It was reported that a patient underwent a single port laparoscopic abdominal myomectomy, pelvic adhesiolysis, and diagnostic curettage under general anesthesia on (b)(6) 2026 and a barbed suture was used.Clinical diagnosis:
1.(multiple) uterine leiomyoma (type v)
2.Female pelvic adhesions.3.Abnormal uterine bleeding
4, (left adnexal area cystic mass) ovarian cyst
5, moderate anemia
during the procedure, the surgeon used suture to stop bleeding on the uterine wound.Operate was normal according to surgical specifications.During use, the needle that came with the suture suddenly broke and fell into the abdominal cavity.Due to the needle remaining in the abdominal cavity, additional surgical exploration procedures were required, which prolonged the surgical duration and increased the risk of abdominal exposure, tissue damage, and infection. After the doctor discovered the broken needle, immediate measures were taken: abdominal exploration was performed immediately during the operation.Due to severe pelvic adhesion in the patient, it was difficult to find it under laparoscopy, so the surgery was converted to open surgery. After careful search, the broken needle was successfully removed.Subsequently, the patient received infection prevention and symptomatic supportive treatment after surgery. The patient's vital signs remained stable without any complications such as residual foreign bodies, bleeding, or infection in the abdominal cavity.Currently, the patient's condition has improved and is recovering.Additional information was requested.
