Information was received from a patient (pt) who was receiving unknown drug via an implantable pump for non-malignant pain indications for use.It was reported that the patient's pump was removed in 2020, and the catheter was removed in (b)(6) 2021.Now, they had a shunt in their head that was put in to control brain swelling.Pt had the catheter removed during a back procedure from their healthcare provider (hcp). When doing that, the catheter was connected to their spinal cord so bacteria got in it and they got bacterial spinal meningitis in (b)(6) 2021.When agent asked for drug info they said they tried different pain medicine but nothing helped with back pain; pt said the drugs no longer helped in the beginning of 2021 even after trying 5 or 6 of them.Pt did not know explant dates because they ended up in the hospital in a coma.
