It was reported that this right atrial (ra) lead was successfully explanted due to a low ra lead impedance and noise, with a gradual decrease in ra impedance to below 200 ohms. The ra lead also demonstrated noise and undersensing, with the findings consistent with a suspected insulation issue and myopotential oversensing. No pacing inhibition occurred, as intrinsic activity was present. The rv lead demonstrated high pacing thresholds, greater than 5 v, with variability in impedance over the previous six months but no out-of-range impedance measurement.Technical services (ts) discussed lead characteristics and sheath sizing considerations with the representative in preparation for the extraction, and the ra and rv leads were addressed as part of the planned procedure. This ra lead was explanted and replaced with another lead.No additional adverse patient effects were reported outside the revision procedure. At this time, this product has not been returned.
