A united states (us) customer contacted the siemens healthcare diagnostics remote services center (rsc) regarding an erroneously depressed sodium (na) result obtained on a dimension exl 200 integrated chemistry system. The customer replaced standard a (std a) with same lot, ran successful calibration and quality control (qc) which recovered low, replaced integrated multisensor technology (imt) sensor, ran dilution check, corrected the bias. The customer observed that the original sample was clear, adequately filled, ran in a primary tube, and the analyzer pump rate was elevated.A siemens customer service engineer (cse) was dispatched to the customer¿s site.During the visit, the cse adjusted imt pump rate, replaced rotary valve, performed successful system checks and imt calibration, super flossed ports for the rotary valve and imt tower, observed high pump rate and adjusted it.The customer ran qc and 10 patient samples, which recovered within acceptable range.Siemens further evaluated the event and determined that the cause of the event cannot be determined. The device is performing according to specifications. No further evaluation is required.
