The customer reported that the earloops have broken on 4 masks after only wearing for a few minutes and stated this appears to be a quality issue with the connection between the mask and ear loop.Medline received two samples; sample one had one of the ear loop¿s connection to the mask detached, there was a small hold where it should be attached and material still attached to the ear loop, and sample two was unused, opened and tested.Medline was unable to duplicate the reported issue on sample two, and was unable to determine how the ear loop detached from the mask on sample one.Complaint history and nonconformance trending for this product and this customer for the past six months found no additional complaints for this customer and one additional unconfirmed complaint for this product; division will monitor for trending. There were no reports of death, serious injury, medical intervention, or follow up care.It has been determined that the reported event could cause or contribute to serious injury if it were to occur again. In an abundance of caution, this is a reportable event. If additional information becomes available this report will be reopened and reevaluated. This medical device report (mdr) is being submitted as part of retrospective review activities, which include review of historical data in accordance with regulations at 21 cfr part 803.The information included in this mdr reflects the information reasonably known to the manufacturer at the time of this retrospective review and submission.
