Information was received from a patient regarding an implantable neurostimulator (ins). The patient stated they had been having problems with their stimulator.Patient said their back was swelling where the stimulator was and when they tried to recharge, the implant would get hot and was "burning" to the point where it became painful and they would have to stop charging.Patient mentioned they had an appointment with their doctor and the manufacturer representative (rep) was just at the office too so patient explained what was going on, and the representative told patient to call to see if there was anyone there that had heard of a problem previously and that patient might need an "antenna" replacement or something.Patient confirmed it was the implant that felt like it was getting hot.The issue was not resolved. The patient was redirected to their healthcare provider to further address the issue.
