A complaint was received, and the customer reported receiving a medline bp monitor that was giving inaccurate readings during use; the facility reported that the bp and hr result was out of patient baseline and the two readings in comparison were several points off.We received 1ea auto bp monitor in used condition, inserted 4 aa control batteries, and tested the sample using a fluke bp pump with measurements at 120/80 at 80 bpm and 150/100 at 80 bpm.The complaint was not confirmed; results showed no indications of readings out of range and were within acceptance criteria of 5+/- mmhg. The monitor worked as intended, turned on/off as normal, and the cuff was properly inflated/deflated; no root cause was identified. There were no reports of death, serious injury, medical intervention, or follow up care.It has been determined that the reported event could cause or contribute to serious injury if it were to occur again. In an abundance of caution, this is a reportable event. If additional information becomes available this report will be reopened and reevaluated. This medical device report (mdr) is being submitted as part of retrospective review activities, which include review of historical data in accordance with regulations at 21 cfr part 803.The information included in this mdr reflects the information reasonably known to the manufacturer at the time of this retrospective review and submission.
