A complaint was received related to linting from or towels, and the reporter stated the towels were linting with wire use in the ir.The received samples were evaluated, the vendor was notified of the issue, and trend analysis was performed by reviewing the past two years of complaint data; approximately 10 or towels were received in a single bag without the original packaging and in a wet/damp state. In the condition that the towels were received, it was difficult to confirm the reported issue, and the reported issue was not confirmed. The vendor noted that there was nothing found within the relevant records and retained samples that indicate potential causes to the reported issue, and the investigation indicated no need for further action at this time. There were no reports of death, serious injury, medical intervention, or follow up care.It has been determined that the reported event could cause or contribute to serious injury if it were to occur again. In an abundance of caution, this is a reportable event. If additional information becomes available this report will be reopened and reevaluated. This medical device report (mdr) is being submitted as part of retrospective review activities, which include review of historical data in accordance with regulations at 21 cfr part 803.The information included in this mdr reflects the information reasonably known to the manufacturer at the time of this retrospective review and submission.
