The customer reported curad latex exam gloves were splitting/ripping, and the complaint transcript stated the issue did not occur during use and no injury occurred. No sample was available, but the issue could be identified via the customer supplied image; the vendor investigation reviewed batch records and retention samples, and no defects or abnormalities were identified.Based on the results of the investigation, medline was unable to confirm the complaint issue nor that the product failed to meet specifications. The root cause was suspected to be that the glove contains a micro hole, likely resulting from a "hole-touching" defect; no adverse trending was identified and there was no need for further action such as initiation of capas, scars and/or other risk management activities at this time. There were no reports of death, serious injury, medical intervention, or follow up care.It has been determined that the reported event could cause or contribute to serious injury if it were to occur again. In an abundance of caution, this is a reportable event. If additional information becomes available this report will be reopened and reevaluated. This medical device report (mdr) is being submitted as part of retrospective review activities, which include review of historical data in accordance with regulations at 21 cfr part 803.The information included in this mdr reflects the information reasonably known to the manufacturer at the time of this retrospective review and submission.
