Dexcom was made aware on 02/20/2017 that on (b)(6) 2016, the patient experienced an adverse event.Patient reported that they experienced a hypoglycemic event.As a result of the event, patient fell and broke a leg.Patient was in the kitchen and wearing the continuous glucose monitor (cgm).The cgm gave a low alert of 64 mg/dl.Patient became disoriented, passed out, and twisted her leg.Patient was found by her two (2) sons.The sons called 911.Patient was transported to emergency room (er).Patient was treated for the low with a glucose iv.Patient was treated for leg fracture by setting it and given percocet.Patient was not admitted to hospital and left the er on the same day.At time of contact, patient is doing well there was no alleged device malfunction.No additional event or patient information is available.No product or data was provided for investigation.The reported issue could not be confirmed.The root cause could not be determined.
