Event Description
Information was received from a healthcare professional via a manufacturer representative regarding a patient receiving gablofen with an unknown dose and concentration via an implantable for intractable spasticity.It was reported the healthcare professional could not advance the catheter.It was noted that the catheter was not able to be advanced and kinked.It was noted that the healthcare professional (hcp) tried to advance the catheter many times, and the hcp believed that catheter was kinking more easily that they had seen before.It was noted that the hcp pulled the needle out and then advanced the catheter without the needle in place with a twisting motion.It was noted the patient had good cerebrospinal fluid (csf) backflow once it was placed.It was stated that the patient has no abnormal anatomy or hardware.No symptoms were mentioned as it was a new pump and catheter.Event date was noted as (b)(6) 2017.No further complications were reported/anticipated.
