It was reported that during use of the device for a cardiopulmonary bypass (cpb) procedure, there was an abnormal measured value for hematocrit (hct). The surgical procedure was completed successfully. There was no delay, no blood loss, nor adverse consequences to the patient.Per clinical review: during cpb the hematocrit saturation module (hsat) probe was reading inaccurate for the hct level, at a measure of 10%, whereas the laboratory values were reading 30%.This inaccuracy was detected by the user, just necessitating additional lab sampling to confirm patient hct levels. The blood parameter monitor was not changed out during the procedure. The incident did not delay the surgical procedure, and the patient was weaned from cpb without issue. There was no blood loss, and no harm was observed.
