Event Description
Information was received from a healthcare professional (hcp) via a manufacturer's representative regarding a patient who was receiving 30mg/ml morphine at 7.508mg/day via an implantable infusion pump for an unknown indication for use.It was reported that the hcp believed that the patient was allergic to the metal the pump is made out of.The patient had rash symptoms on the exterior of the skin at the pump site.Current medications the patient was taking were unknown.It was unknown when the rash started.The pump was explanted on (b)(6) 2017.It was unknown if the issue was resolved at the time of the report.The patient's status at the time of the report was listed as, "alive-no injury." no further complications were anticipated/reported.

The pump was returned, and analysis found no evidence of anomalies.If information is provided in the future, a supplemental report will be issued.
