No patient information provided as no patient was involved in this concern.A medtronic representative inspected the navigation system onsite and confirmed the reported event.The monitor failed visual inspection.The surgeon monitor was replaced and the issue resolved.A full system check-out was completed following part replacement and all tests passed.Full system functionality was confirmed and the system was returned to service.The suspect monitor was returned to the manufacturer for evaluation.After performing functional testing and visual/physical examination, the issue was confirmed as an lcd monitor malfunction.The monitor displayed a good image for about 10 second then went blank.Hot plugging the monitor brought back the image for about 10 seconds before going blank again.
 
Event Description
A medtronic representative reported that outside of a procedure, while testing the navigation system, the surgeon monitor would turn off 10 seconds after plugging in.The representative reseated the surgeon monitor cable and the monitor would turn on, but then turn off again 10 seconds later.There was no patient present when this issue was identified.
