A medtronic representative went to site to test the equipment.Representative was unable to replicate the reported issue.No parts were replaced.No parts have been received by the manufacturer for evaluation.When medtronic personnel were reviewing the logs for the navigation system, an unexpected end of file error was encountered when unpacking the logs.
 
Event Description
A site representative reported that during cranial resection, when editing a 3d registration model, medtronic representative was cropping the model and the navigation system unexpectedly became unresponsive and exited to medtronic home screen.A hard reboot was performed.After rebooting, representative was able to enter cranial application and edit the model without any issue.The procedure was completed with the use of navigation.There was no delay to procedure.No impact on patient outcome.
 
Manufacturer Narrative
The logs for the navigation system were reviewed by medtronic personnel.However, the logs provided no additional insight into the probable cause of the anomaly.The software investigation found that a probable cause was unable to be determined without further information since the on-going investigation proved to be inconclusive based on the information provided.
