Boston scientific received information that this cardiac resynchronization therapy pacemaker (crt-p) was part of a system revision due to infection.Reportedly, the device pocket was grossly infected and frank pus was noted.Inflamed and necrotic tissues were also present at the device pocket.In addition, the patient also experienced pain, erythema and swelling.Patient also complained of fever, chills and overall malaise.Hematoma was also noted secondary to a mediastinal bleed.The crt-p was explanted.There were no additional adverse patient effects reported.
