Information was received from a healthcare provider via a clinical study on (b)(6) 2018 regarding a patient receiving hydromorphone (3.0mg/ml at 1.0982 mg/day ), bupivacaine (30.0mg/ml at 10.982mg/day) via an implanted infusion pump. The indication for use was non-malignant pain.It was reported that the patient reported increased pain on (b)(6) 2017 secondaryto empty reservoir.Interrogation of the pump identified empty and low pump reservoir alarms on (b)(6) 2017.It was noted that the empty reservoir was secondary to patient non-compliance.The pump was refilled on (b)(6) 2017 and the intrathecal (it) rate was decreased to avoid overdose, as the pump had not been delivering medication. The outcome indicated the event resolved without sequelae on (b)(6) 2017.Etiology indicated the event was related to the device/therapy and was not related to the implant procedure. It was indicated that the event was related to the drug. The programming date from the most recent refill prior to the event was (b)(6) 2016.No further complications were reported or anticipated.
