Event Description
|
It was reported that patient developed a superficial clot after the placement of a midline.Because the clot was superficial it was not able to be treated with coumadin or lovenox.The nurse said "i did place a verge for the midline, i don't believe it was defective, however the patient did have a superficial thrombus along the vein that we placed the midline in.The swelling and discomfort has resolved completely for this patient".No intervention required, and no patient injury was reported.
