Event Description
Information was received from a consumer concerning patient with implantable neurostimulator (ins) for other chronic/intract pain (trunk/limbs).It was reported that the patient¿s device had not been working for at least 10 years and the patient would like the scs system removed. The patient mentioned having multiple abdominal surgeries and would be having another. The patient confirmed the surgeries were unrelated to the implanted scs system. The patient confirmed that the scs system stopped working due to normal battery depletion, and the patient was seeking elective removal of the system because her target pain had resolved. The patient further reported that the battery (ins) has ¿slipped¿ lower than it used to be.The patient says this has happened because of the normal ¿jostling around of her innards¿ over the years. The patient was redirected to their healthcare provider and healthcare provider listings were sent.No further complications were reported/anticipated.
