It was reported that the procedure was performed to treat a lesion in the proximal left anterior descending artery with heavy calcification and no tortuosity.A 3.5 x 23 mm xience alpine stent delivery system (sds) was advanced to the target lesion and when attempting to inflate the sds, it was observed that the stent was not on the balloon.Reportedly, the stent had dislodged and was found inside the protective sheath, outside the anatomy. The procedure was successfully completed with a non-abbott stent. There were no adverse patient effects and no clinically significant delay in the procedure. No additional information was provided.
