Event Description
|
Information was received from a consumer regarding a patient receiving hydromorphone (7.3 mg/day; concentration unknown) via an implanted pump. The indication for pump use was spinal pain.On (b)(6) 2018 the patient reported that about 45 days ago he was very sick and ¿almost died¿.His ¿blood pressure was all over the place¿.He said it was due to his medication. His pump went empty and he had to pay out of pocket to get the medication for his pump.He had moved to a different state and updated his insurance, but he wasn¿t put on auto pay so they canceled his insurance and he had to retro activate his policy. He had to go to the hospital and stayed the whole night. He had the medication for the pump but the er (emergency room) didn¿t know how to fill the pump. The next day he went to a physician and he filled the pump as a favor.Three days later, he got better. The situation was resolved. No further complications were reported/anticipated.
