Event Description
Information was received from a consumer regarding a patient with an implantable neuro stimulator (ins) for non-malignant pain and failed back surgery syndrome. It was reported that patient has loss of therapy.Consumer reported they want to schedule programming because the ins is not helping as much as it used to.Patient hurt his back and since then when the ins turned on it hurts more so the patient has turned it off and stopped using it.Patient had an epidural with the health care professional (hcp) who told them that reprogramming could be done.Patient also met with implanting hcp who is planning to do a fusion on the patient and directed the patient to contact the manufacturing representative (rep) to set up an appointment with rep to come into his office and perform reprogramming.Consumer is not sure if this is supposed to be done before or after the spinal fusion surgery.Patient was re-directed to hcp to coordinate appointment with rep.No further patient symptoms or complications report.
