The associated trigen short lateral bend trochanteric nail was not returned for evaluation.A clinical evaluation noted that three x-ray images were provided and reviewed, and a trochanteric fracture can be seen on the pre-implant image. The post-implant image shows the trochanteric fracture could be extending medially, or it may just be opened after alignment of the bone and the competitor device stabilizing the fracture. It was reported the procedure was completed with the added time for the procedure. The impact of the extra prep for the original trigen nail cannot be concluded. It can¿t be confirmed if the ¿fracture seen¿ was progression of the original due the prep and possible implant of the unused trigen nail. There is no report of the patient¿s current condition or healing status. No further clinical assessment is warranted at this time.A review of complaint history on the listed part revealed no prior complaints for the listed batch with the same failure mode.A review of the manufacturing records for the listed batch did not reveal any deviation from the standard manufacturing processes. No further actions are being taken at this time; however we will continue to monitor for future complaints and investigate as necessary.Should additional information be received, the complaint will be reopened.
